William David Wallader acquitted

William David Wallader, 62, was serving a minimum six-month jail term after being found guilty in May.The Court of Appeal in Brisbane has acquitted a former financial adviser, jailed for possessing counterfeit US treasury bonds worth $1.3 billion.
His trial heard he was negotiating the sale of the fake bonds to the Turkish Government when he was arrested. The court is yet to publish its reasons, but in a short hearing this morning allowed the appeal.
Mr Wallader is expected to be released today.

CAUTION
Cesar Armando Laurean is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of 20-year-old Maria Lauterbach, who was pregnant at the time of her murder. Lauterbach was a United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal assigned to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She had been missing since December 14, 2007. The charred remains of Lauterbach and her unborn baby were recovered in a shallow grave in the backyard of Laurean's Jacksonville, North Carolina, residence.
A state arrest warrant was issued on January 12, 2008, in Onslow County, North Carolina, after Laurean was charged with murder. That same day, Laurean was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by the United States District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina, Wilmington, North Carolina, and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest.

JOSEPH MCELROY: In 2004, the bespectacled British 18-year-old narrowly escaped jail after sparking a nuclear panic by hacking into a top secret U.S. research centre. Hoping to use the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Illinois's advanced network to download and store films and music from the Internet, the then 16-year old triggered a slow-down of the system that caused technicians to press "the panic button". Detectives at Scotland Yard traced the student to his East London home and he received a 200-hour community punishment order.

THE "PENTAGON HACKERS": In 1998 two California teenagers who mounted one of the most systematic hack attacks ever on U.S. military computers were banned from possessing or using a computer modem, from acting as computer consultants, or having any contact with computers out of sight of "a school teacher, a librarian, an employer". Known as the "Pentagon hackers" the then 16 and 17-year olds who went by the codenames "Makaveli" and "TooShort", were given three years probation for assaults on sensitive military and institutional computers.

Five Million Dollars Reward
